Tennessee River Rock Alternatives

Updated: Sep 24

As we move into the spring of this year, we are beginning to think about our outdoor patios and gardens and the ways in which we can re-decorate. Our southern customers are all raving about Tennessee river rock but are having a hard time finding this stone. The good news is, we have many great alternatives to this beautiful brown and tan stone. Whether you are from the Carolinas, Georgia, or even New York, these varieties are a perfect choice for the 2021 season.

Berkshire River Rock

The first alternative we offer is our Berkshire River Rock. This is a beautiful replacement that provides a mix of colors. This stone has beautiful light brown, tan, and white tones that help to provide more contrast as compared to the original Tennessee stone. Our Berkshire River Rock is found within the Berkshire mountains in northwestern Massachusetts and Vermont. This stone has been our best seller for 2021 thus far and will look great on any property. We offer this stone in 1-3” and 3-6” sizes.

Alabama Brown Gravel

Our Alabama Brown Gravel is our most similar option to Tennessee River Rock. It has very similar coloring and shape to the loved stone. This brown and tan stone comes in 3/8", 3/4" and 1-2". We always have a great stock on this product, unlike the Tennessee River rock.

Winchester River Rock™

Winchester River Rock™ is the most similar to Tennessee River Rock. This stone is a wonderful replacement for tan-colored round stone. With brown and tan colors like this along your property, your house will have that traditional southern feel! This decorative stone is extremely popular in all property types from commercial gardens, islands, and parking lots to residential gardens and even driveways! This stone comes in multiple sizes from pea stone gravel up to 7”.

Bayside Skimmers™

If you are looking for something in the brown family, but are looking for a more coastal feel, we recommend our Bayside Skimmers™. This caramel and tan stone brings the beach to you. It offers the coloring of the warm earth and the texture and look of the ocean. It truly is the best of both worlds.

No matter what stone you choose, they are a sure way to catch the attention of all your neighbors. Traditional Tennessee river rocks are only offered in a dull brown color. With our alternatives you will get multiple shades of tans and browns that are a lot more pleasing to the eye. Get ahead of the trend this year and order your stone today from the experts are DeFeo Materials.
